Mildred Louise (Simmons) Steinberg, 87, of Rockland died on January 13, 2017 at the All American Assisted Living Center in Hanson. Mildred was born on February, 26 1929 to Percy and Flora (Paris) Simmons. She was the loving wife of the late Richard J. Steinberg.

Mildred was raised and educated in Rockland and was a graduate of Rockland High School. Mildred worked as a clerk for the E.T Wright Company for ten years before retiring in 1978. She was a former member of the board of deacons as well as a Sunday school teacher and financial secretary for the First Congregational Church in Rockland.

Mildred was the loving mother to Peter J. Steinberg of Florida and the late Jane S. Brown. She was the sister to the late Elbridge Simmons, Fred Simmons, Marion Keefe and Dorothy Fair. She will be dearly missed by all her nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Mildred's life on Wednesday January 18, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union Street Rockland, MA. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday January 19, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
