Obituary For Michael “Mike” Fitzgerald
Michael “Mike”Fitzgerald of Hanson Ma Born February 11, 1982, formerly of Weymouth Ma passed away suddenly on November 15th at Mass General Hospital after a brief illness. Devoted and loving son of Kathleen Hurley, cherished brother of Kristy Bennett and her husband Kevin and uncle to Anna and Nathan Bennett who adored him. Mike is also survived by cousins, aunts, an uncle and lifelong friends. Mike was greeted at the gates of Heaven by his Nana and Papa, Ann and Walter Hurley. Mike was affectionately known as “Monkey” to those who loved him most. He was an avid collector of comic books and memorabilia and was very proud of his collection. He was a self proclaimed geek and loved to get tattoos representing all of his favorite things. Mike enjoyed WWE wrestling seeing any movie possible and hanging out with his close knit friends, and he may have surprised you if you ever witnessed him on the mic doing some karaoke. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family, from catching a game to watch Anna and Nathan, catching up on tv shows with Mom or sharing in holiday traditions, Mike was happiest when surrounded by his family. He will be missed by all who were touched by his kind heart and spirit.

I had hired Mike a month or so back for the theatre in Hanover; I instantly got the best vibe from him and was very excited to get to have him on the team and get to know him better. He was a very bright light in the very short time I knew him. Myself and the rest of the team have had him in our thoughts and have been rooting for him, please accept our deepest condolences.

We have known Mike for many years through both our kids, who met him at Shaws. He was always so kind and so respectful. He will be deeply missed by everyone.

I've known Mike since he was 15 when he first signed up for a subscription at New England Comics. He came to me when he wanted to work for NEC and got hired. I think he loved working with us, and his smile on Monday morning was engaging as we all worked to get the comics out by the end of the day. Just the other day he was showing me photos of him holding his dog. His kindness and sympathy was amazing. He's now in heaven talking to all the comic book people, but will be missed on Earth. And I will pray for the family and him.

My children and I got to know Mike through Shaw's as well. Me as a shopper and them as employees. They became good friends and I knew that they were with a good guy. I am saddened by this unexpected loss and my heart goes out to you, his dear family. We all will miss him greatly. God bless.

We have known Mike for many years and appreciated his friendship greatly. Mike and my daughter Pam worked at Shaw's Supermarket along with many others in their age group who became friends and continued gathering together for many years.and Mike enjoyed his time spent with his friends and family. We will miss his ever present smile. Praying for the Fitzgerald Family during this difficult time.
