Michael Joseph Lotti, 75, died peacefully at his home in Whitman on November 22, 2024, with his wife at his side following a long struggle with cardiac issues.

Michael was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, the youngest son of Charles and Mary (Fran) Lotti. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 30 years, Karen Bonn, his son Daniel Lotti and his wife Meredith Cutter of Holland, PA, and his daughter Jeanne (Lotti) Gray and her husband Christopher Gray of Lexington, MA. His grandchildren Jackson Gray, Owen Gray, Nora Lotti and Henry Lotti will all miss their beloved "Papa" more than words can describe. Mike and his first wife Diane (Lotti) Pizzano exemplified how to parent and grandparent together.

He was predeceased in death by his sister Pat Fregeau, her husband the Rev. Stephen Fregeau, brothers Jimmy and Mickey Lotti, and brother-in-law Roland Adams. He leaves behind his sister Judy Roy and her husband Roger of Abington, MA, his sister Jacqueline Feeman of Florida, his twin sister Michelle Nelson and her husband Jay of Duxbury, MA, his sister Mary Adams of Rochester, MA, and his cousins Paul McNeil and wife Pat of Virginia and George McNeil and wife Marcia of Abington, MA. Michael also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, each held a very special place in his heart.

Mike attended school in Abington and was a member of the graduating class of 1967. He served our country in the U.S. Army, stationed in Utah. He was an incredibly loyal and dedicated worker as a driver for Hendries Ice Cream and New England Frozen Foods. He ended his career with the Town of Whitman Department of Public Works. He enjoyed his last 10 years of retirement.

Mike was a loving friend to so many, from childhood through his last days. His generosity of heart was evident in every relationship, and he was the first to show up when someone was in need. He was proud to be an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Rockland, MA. It was in this community that he met some of his closest and dearest friends who - like Michael - were always there to support and serve. Especially dear to Michael were Charlie and Debbie Morse who helped and celebrated in countless ways.

Mike’s passion was his family. He would often speak with pride about growing up as one of eight children with one bathroom in the house. A hands-on dad, you knew he was in the stands and could easily pick his voice out from a busy gym or field. He was a loving and thoughtful Papa and, together with Karen, happily took care of their grandchildren every Friday and dropped them off with a hot meal after a long week. Always the entertainer, he loved to host Patriots tailgating Sundays at his house and epic horseshoe tournaments at his Labor Day cookout. He considered Karen's family as his own. He was blessed to have Irene Bonn as a mother-in-law and professional baker of his favorite apple pie. He entertained all of his out of state nieces and nephews with his Boston accent. Mike was also proudly the “American Dad” to Yasemin Civan, an exchange student who became part of the Lotti family, Once you were a part of Mike's family, you never left.

In his younger days, Mike was an avid athlete with a special love for baseball and bowling. His legendary southpaw baseball pitch also came in handy in neighborhood snowball fights. Watching him candlepin bowl where the ball barely touched the alley floor never ceased to amaze everyone well past his youth. Throughout his life, he was a loving helper to anyone who needed it - you could always count on him. He cherished every moment with his friends and family and will be missed by all who knew him. He was the strongest, most authentic and sincere person you could ever meet.

The Lotti family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Michael’s life in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home on Friday, November 29, 2024 from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the Trinity Episcopal Church on Sunday, December 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM.
