Obituary For Michael J. Darling

Michael J. Darling Jr., 27 of Rockland, died unexpectedly on August 21, 2016 in Pennsylvania. He was born in Weymouth on December 16, 1988 to Michele (King) Darling and the late Michael Darling. Michael was raised and educated in Rockland and was part of the graduating class of 2007. He later attended ITT Technical Institute in Pennsylvania. A lover of sports, Michael played hockey in Rockland since the age of 4 and also later played during his time in Pennsylvania. He was an eloquent writer and a gifted poet who enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, dancing and art. Michael was a well-rounded individual and a friend to all who knew him. He was always the "life of the party". In addition to his mother, Michele Packer of Rockland, Michael is survived by his grandparents Leonard and Judith King of Rockland as well as Michael Darling of Hingham and Lynette Berben of NY. He was the brother of Brian C. Darling, Eric M. Darling and Damon R. Packer all of Rockland. Michael was stepson to the late Richard J. Packer. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins especially one very close cousin Shawn F King of Rockland was more like another brother. The family welcomes friends and relatives to celebrate his life on Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland, from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Church in Rockland.
