Obituary For Michael J. Collyer

Michael Joseph Collyer, affectionately known to his family as Mike, Dad and Grampy, passed away on September 24th, after a long illness. He was fifty-eight years old. A life-long resident of Rockland, he made his home on Division Street.

Michael was born in Brockton, MA on June 21,1966 to Barbara and Owen Collyer. He was one of the first identical triplets born in Massachusetts, coming into the world with brothers Chuckie Collyer and Timothy Jay Collyer, who passed away as an infant. He was also blessed with siblings Steve Collyer, Kim Campbell, and Ricky Collyer. He went through the Rockland school system and graduated from Rockland High School. He worked at VHS Transportation in Easton for many years, doing autobody. He was the life of the party, always ready to enjoy a good time with friends, having drinks at local bars in Rockland, riding his motorcycle, and celebrating his grandchildren’s many birthdays and milestones. He never failed to make those around him feel seen and loved.

He is survived by his mother, Barbara Collyer, and his children, Cliffy Collyer, Gabby Collyer, Jake Collyer, Jocelyn Collyer and Ben Collyer. He was loved by his grandchildren, Landon Collyer, Montana Brown, Kingsley Chan, Weston Chan, Owen Collyer, Ryland Carty, Abby Collyer, Lyla Carty, and Millie Carty. He shared many happy memories with Corrie Collyer, the mother of his children and his life-long friend.

A service in memory and celebration of Michael will be held Tuesday, October 1st, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home in Rockland, MA.

Thanks for all the laughs, good advice and genuine friendship. I will miss our late night conversations, debating music, dissecting poltics and reviewing movies. But, I will miss your infectious laugh the most. Rest easy my friend. Tell Chuck I said hello. - Peej
