Obituary For Mia Ann Costa

Our Beloved Mia Ann Costa passed peacefully on June 14, 2022, after a brave battle against cancer. Mia faced this battle with resiliency and strength that inspired all who knew her story. Mia touched so many lives during her time here on earth and her loving spirit will be remembered long after her passing. Mia’s beautiful smile touched everyone who was lucky enough to see it and everyone that met her instantly fell in love. She was special in every way and truly one of a kind. She will be missed tremendously by all who love her, especially her amazing parents.

Mia cherished every minute with her family. Her zest for life was infectious as was her laugh. She was always determined to live her best life. She loved adventures with her Mom and Dad and her dog Maple just as much as the time she spent at home with them. She loved playing anything and everything with her cousins. She loved to sing and dance, especially with her Mom. Mia was artistic and a very fast learner. She loved to do arts and crafts with her Mom and she was a wiz when it came to mastering the many levels of Super Mario with her Dad.

Mia is survived by her loving parents, Colleen and Leandro Costa of Rockland, MA and a large family who absolutely adored Mia; including grandparents Elza Costa and Josias Souza of Brazil and “Nana Colleen” McGaughey of Rockland, MA; aunts and uncles; Joe and Jenn Kelly of Quincy, MA, Mary Kelly of Braintree, MA, Danny and Laura Kelly of Dorchester, MA, Katie Kelly of Quincy MA, Lucimar and Flavio Freitas of Rockland, MA, and Luciano and Sandra Costa of Minas Gerais, Brazil; and cousins; Casey Kelly, Oliva Kelly, Dylan Del Papa, Lyla Kelly, Gabriel and Emily Freitas. Her family will forever strive to honor her memory by living life to the fullest just as Mia did. We take comfort in knowing that Mia is in Heaven in the arms of her loving Grammy, “Gigi” Sally Kelly. Magoun Biggins funeral home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. A mass to celebrate Mia’s life will be held at Holy Family Church in Rockland MA. on Tuesday, June 28th at 9:00 AM. All who knew Mia are welcome to attend and join in celebrating her life.

In lieu of flowers, Mia’s parents ask that you make a donation to Make it Better(MIB) in Mia’s honor. MIB is an organization close to her family’s heart and is dedicated to supporting Pediatric Osteosarcoma patients, caregivers, doctors and research.
