Obituary For Matilda Tanzi

Matilda (Padrone) Tanzi, 91 of Whitman. Died on November 1, 2017 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on March 12, 1926 in Italy to the late Antonio and Louisa (Tote) Padrone. Matilda was the loving wife of the late John Tanzi.

After coming to the United States in 1949, Matilda worked as a factory seamstress until the age of 65. Matilda loved to entertain and she loved to cook and made sure everyone was well taken care of. She enjoyed her trips to Florida with John.

Matilda was the mother of John Tanzi of East Bridgewater, Marylouise Tautkus of Whitman and the late Anthony Tanzi. She was the sister of Lucia Picciarilli of Italy and the late Maria Picciarilli and Paulo Padrone. Matilda leaves behind three grandchildren and one great grandchild. Several nieces and nephews will dearly miss her.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Matilda's life on Sunday November 5, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland, MA. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday November 6, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Brockton. For more information please visit www.magounbiggins.com

    I had lots of wonderful memories as a child and young adult. Down on the farm and on Lawrence st. Matilda was a great lady!!so glad I had the pleasure of knowing her! Wonderful woman!She will be missed!
