The poem is entitled: As I closed my eyes As I closed my eyes and asked the Angels to see The place in Heaven where Aunt Mary would be A grand door opened wide for all to see And low and behold, we came face to face She reached out to touch me, so much love so much grace She told me to be grateful she was free as a bird She was laughing and happy is all that I heard She was light, she was free, and enjoying the ride The gates to Heaven for Mary had opened wide With loved ones in spirit right by her side She looked all around filled with excitement to see Her husband, her Mother her Father and more They had lined up to greet her, her sisters, and brothers Her friends, and her pets, all waiting together They spoke of how happy they were to see That she had finally made it home, so happy so free She smiled as she turned and looked at each face She laughed her heart open and once again full of grace She was light no more pain, she moved with great ease She loved how she felt, so much better in this place With light shining down with warmth on her face She felt God's love surrounding her now As she looked down upon her family and friends I love you, and thank you, I've had a Rebirth I am light, I am joy, I am love, I am peace The past is just that, as I let go and release She went on to say; our time together was such an adventure So much learned, so much shared, it was all such a treasure And then she began to wave to us all Saying I am more alive then ever before As little by little she began to close the door Her request was simple as she said with such love Feel happy for me in this special place up above I am whole, & healthy she replies with a smile on her face Filled with beauty, and light, love and God's never ending grace
