Obituary For Mary Josephine O'Keefe

Mary Josephine (Duggan) O'Keefe, age 92, of Rockland, died on September 26, 2015 at the South Shore Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Rockland. Daughter of the late Jeremiah and Catherine Duggan, she was born, raised and educated in the Mission Hill neighborhood of Boston. Mary later moved to Rockland where she would live the rest of her life. She worked for the Rockland Public Schools in the cafeteria for many years. Mary was a member of the Rockland VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling and belonged to the former Rockland Bowling League. Mary was an accomplished seamstress, an avid Red Sox Fan, and loved traveling, line-dancing and trips to the beach with her family. Mary was the wife of the late Robert G. O'Keefe Sr., mother of Donna M. McDonald of Plymouth, Mary Lou Beauregard of Attleboro, Robert G. O'Keefe Jr. of Rockland, and Lynne Webb of Rockland. Sister of the late Francis Duggan, Patricia Pinto, Theresa Hardiman and Anna Coughlin. She is survived by younger brothers John and Robert Duggan, and sister-in-law Beatrice O'Keefe of Pembroke. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. The family welcomes friends and family to celebrate Mary's life on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday October 2, 2015 at 9:00 AM in the Holy Family Church in Rockland. For directions or additional information, please visit www.magounbiggins.com.

    Lynne and family, we are sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. I remember going to the cape in the summers with Lynne and enjoying time with her at dinner. She was a nice woman and of course Mark remembers fondly as his "lunch lady". May she rest in peace. Love to you all - Mark and Kelly
