Obituary For Martha L. Murphy
Martha Louise "Weezy" (Crowley) Murphy, of Rockland, originally from South Boston, died June 21, 2024 at the age of 87. She was the beloved wife of 68 years to Charles P. Murphy and daughter of the late Vincent and Martha Crowley. Family meant everything to Louise. She was the loving mother of Stephen Matthew Murphy and his wife Charlene, Barbara Ann Bowen, Paul Duncan Murphy and his wife Elena, Susan Louise Talkowski, the late Charles Patrick Murphy, and the late Vincent Paul Murphy and Russell Ryan who she considered a son. She was the sister of Vincent Crowley and his wife Dinah, Frank Crowley and his wife Margo, the late Duncan Crowley and his late wife Tina, and the late Barbara Mahoney and her late husband Lawrence. She was the proud "Nana" to Erin Munro and her husband John, Benjamin Murphy and his wife Shelby, Mollie Knight and her husband Michael, Stephen Murphy Jr. and his wife Nicole, Karissa Murphy, Danielle Murphy and her fiancé Andrew, Charles Murphy, Charles Bowen and his wife Jenelle, Parker Bowen, Chelcie Morency and her husband Dan, Amanda Murphy, Angela Landry and her husband Jeffrey, Kathleen Talkowski, and Joseph Talkowski. She is also survived by 13 great grandchildren (with 2 on the way) and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Louise loved a good party, especially if it involved a tiki bar, and was always the most colorfully dressed and bedazzled person in any room. She believed in eating dessert before the main course and could often be found surrounded by Dove chocolate wrappers. She never failed to tell you her opinion, which usually began with “now, let me tell ya” or “don’t make a big deal out of this, but…”. She was incredibly proud of the home she built and lovingly decorated with accents of Coca Cola, Mickey Mouse, and homemade ceramics over 60 years with the love of her life, Charlie. Louise ensured that her home was a safe haven for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and countless others who were lucky enough to be taken under her wing and offered a homemade cookie or glass of lemonade. Vivacious, quick-witted, and fiercely loyal to those she loved, Louise will be sorely missed.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Wednesday 6/26/24 from 3-7 PM in the Magoun Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland, MA 02370. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the funeral home at 8:15 AM on Thursday prior to the Funeral Mass in Holy Family Church in Rockland at 9 AM with burial to follow in Holy Family, Rockland. Louise hated the color black and always wanted those around her to dress in bright colors. The Murphy family asks those in attendance of the funeral to dress in bright, fun colors in honor of Louise’s zest for life.
Donations in memory of Weezy may be made to the N.E. Center and Home for Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108 or the Pine Street Inn, 444 Harrison Ave, Boston, MA 02118. See www.magounbiggins.com for directions and online condolences.

We are incredibly sorry for your loss. I feel fortunate to have known Louise my entire life through my father's 80-plus-year friendship with Charlie. My parents adored Louise, and I did too. I will always cherish the memories of Charlie and Louise dancing on St. Patrick's Day at the 440. Louise will always hold a special place in our hearts. Love never dies. With Love, Lisa & Family
