Obituary For Mark S. Heikkila

Mark S. Heikkila of Brockton. May 21, 1959 to March 21, 2023. Dedicated, loving husband of 42 years to Nancy (Geloran) Heikkila. Loving father to Rachel Heikkila and Justine Cooper, father in law to Robert Mackiewicz and Kevin Cooper. Proud grandfather to Aiden Green, Brendan Cooper, Olivia Green, Austin Cooper and Leighton Cooper. Son of the late G. Robert Heikkila and the late Sylvia (Maguire) Heikkila. Brother of Glenn Heikkila, Cheryl and Peter Wessel, Deborah Heikkila and the late Jim Whalen, Gary and Cheryl Heikkila, Rob and Deborah Heikkila, Carol and John O’Brien, Donn and Tara Heikkila, Jill and Tim Ribbe. Uncle to several nieces and nephews.

Mark enjoyed quality time with his wife, family and friends intertwined with travel, music, cooking and fitness. Mark loved spending endless hours in his back yard sanctuary. Mark could always be found making others laugh and always lending a helping hand to anyone in need.

Mark worked in banking for 40 years Providing friendship and customer service to the small town community of Sharon.

Family and friends are welcomed to pay their respects Sunday March 26th 4pm-7pm. Celebration of life services Monday March 27th 11am.

    Dear Nancy, Justine, Rachel and Family, Mark has always been such a kind, friendly and truly warm person. No matter how long it was between meetings, he never changed and was always so incredibly warm and welcoming. In messaging with him over his final prognosis and planning for his service, I was so deeply touched by his strength and resolve. What a hugely courageous guy he was. The true measure of a person is in those most difficult moments and he showed himself to be a giant. My heart is truly broken for all of you, but for all of us who will truly miss him too. May God bless him and give him rest and give you all comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering. I am truly, truly sorry for the loss of this wonderful man. Much love to you all.
