Marjorie W. (Marks) Prouty, 94 of Whitman died on January 23, 2010 at the Southwood at Norwell Nursing Home. She was born in Rockland, daughter of the late Leslie and Grace Marks and was raised and educated there. Marjorie had been a Hanover resident since 1939. She worked for several years for the Town of Hanover as a Clerk in the Assessors Office. Mrs Prouty was an active member of the Hanover First Baptist Church. At the church she was a member of the “Willing Workers- Crane Circle� group. Marjorie was the wife of the late Fred A. Prouty. Mother of Barbara J. Marshman of Whitman, Marcia E. Moore of OR, Norma E. Prouty of TN, and the late Charles Prouty. Sister of Helen Elliot of Leomenster, and the late Donald Bassett. Also survived by 3 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, 2 neices, and 1 nephew. A memorial service will be held from the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. ROCKLAND on Wednseday, January 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Memorial visiting hours will be on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 10:00-11:00 AM.
