Obituary For Marjorie Conant

Marjorie Conant, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2024 at the age of 102. She was deeply cherished by her family, who meant the world to her. Born on December 24, 1921, Marjorie was the daughter of the late Irving and Laurana Taylor and was raised in Whitman.

She was predeceased by her devoted husband, Gerald Conant, who passed away in 1976, and her two beloved children, Phylis Blake and James Conant. She is survived by her two children, Robert Conant and his wife, Susan of Hanover and Patricia Corigliano and her husband Robert of Fort Montgomery, New York. She also leaves behind four
cherished grandchildren—Robert, Michelle, Brad, and Jerry—and six great- grandchildren, Sarah, Jillian, Zack, Ian, Andrew, and Ethan.

Marge was a longtime resident of Rockland where she raised her four children. After moving back to Whitman, she served as the head of the Auxiliary at the Whitman VFW Post 697 and was an advocate for veterans and their families helping to ensure that the
VFW was a place where all were welcomed and cared for. Beyond her work at the VFW, Marge was deeply involved in her community volunteering with the Council on Aging and Harvard Court in Whitman, where she generously devoted her time to organizing activities, assisting with events, and supporting the thrift shop, making a lasting impact in the lives of those she served.

Marge had a passion for games. Whether gathering around the table for a competitive card game, eagerly waiting for the next number to be called at bingo, completing a crossword puzzle, or scratching a lottery ticket, Marge found joy in the thrill of the game.
Her love for these simple pleasures was matched by her ability to make every game a fun, memorable occasion. Always quick with a smile or a joke, she brought light and laughter to every round, and her spirit of friendly competition will be deeply missed by all who shared in these moments.

Marge will be remembered for her kind heart, laughter, and unwavering support for those she loved. Even in her later years, Maggie, as she was affectionately known at Royal Nursing Home, remained young at heart, reminding us all that true youth comes from within. Her vibrant spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her, and her
memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of
knowing her.

A service celebrating Marjorie’s life will be held on December 2, 2024 at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home. Visiting hours will be from 9:30 to 11 AM with a funeral service beginning at 11. Interment will follow at Saint Patrick’s Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Autumn Hospice and the nurses and staff at Royal Nursing Home in Norwell for the care Marjorie received in her final years.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Scituate Animal Shelter.

Jerry, Michelle, and family I am so sorry for your loss. She was such a wonderful person, and I will remember her fondly. I'm sorry I am unable to attend due to work, but I wanted you to know I am thinking of you all at this sad time. May you find peace and comfort in your happy memories of her. I know she will be at rest with mom now. Their favorite place was always together, and now they shall both be eternally together, making laughter in the heavens. Our sympathies to you all.
