Obituary For Marilyn F. Thomson
Marilyn F. "Mal" (Bridges) Thomson, 80 of Rockland died at her home on December 24, 2016. She was born in Weymouth, daughter of the late Nelson and Helen (Quann) Bridges and was raised and educated there. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School.
A Rockland resident for the past 54 years Mrs. Thomson retired as a Sales Associate from Lord and Taylor in Braintree where she had been employed for over 20 years. She had previously worked at the former Rockland Hardware in Rockland Center.
She loved to cook, shop and go to the movies. Her greatest passion was to spend time with her loving family.
Wife of the late Clifton C. Thomson who died in 2002, she is survived by her children, Beverly J. Perfetuo of Abington, Kenneth J. Thomson and his wife Linda Merritt and Gregory K. Thomson all of Rockland, James R. Thomson of Jacksonville, FL. And Ronald S. Thomson of Hanson. She was the sister of Nancy Rusko of Rockland, Kathy Coughlin of Naples, FL and the late Helene Musto, Nelson Bridges and Maryellen Waldron. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family welcomes friends and relatives to celebrate her life on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland. Donations in her memory may be made to the Sjogren's Syndrome Foundation, 6707 Democracy Blvd, Ste 325, Bethesda, MD 20817. www.sjogrens.org.
