To my dear friend Marie, We always said to each other: I must.... we should.... we have to.... but somehow time flies and by the time we get around to doing whatever it is, it is too late. Marie, I've been trying to call you but time got away. Now it is too late. But I want you to know you will be missed. When you get to heaven say hello to all our good friends, and I am sending a big hug and kiss to all of you. Love, Addie

Dear Christie and Family, There really are no words to describe the feelings I have in my heart for all of you at the passing of such a wonderful person and consumate "mother". While stopping by the house this weekend to share a moment or two with her as she made her final journey home, my heart was flooded with such joy and hundreds of memories of being there all my life growing up. Your house was almost like my house, Christie. What fun we "girls" had there for so many years. How patient your mother was while we all screamed and laughed in your room, or the den while she patiently just let us be silly. We might get the occasional look over the top of the glasses, but it was such a look of love and one I can see as I think of her now. Thank you for always sharing her with us, the sleep overs, her beans every Saturday morning, and just a few years ago the grown up "girls" night we had at the house. She was such a great friend to my Mom, all of our hearts are broken. But she's with those she loved so much and missed so dearly. I am sending you all my love and deepest sympathy. God Bless, Kathy

To all of the Hannigan Family Words can not express how sorry we are for your loss. Beal Street will not be the same for us without our wonderful neighbor. Your mom and dad were very special to us and made the move to Rockland very easy with how welcomed they made us feel. We will miss your mom's banana bread and her famous cookies that she always seemed to make too many of and send over the extras. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. What a wonderful life she had and all you were blessed to be able to call her mom. She will be sadly missed but with fond memories for everyone who knew her.

Dear Christie and Family Words cannot fully express how sad I am with the passing of such a wonderful "lady". Sitting at the kitchen table the other day I couldn't help but remember the countless times I had sat there as a little girl, teenager, young adult and finally a grownup. I have no idea how Mrs. Hannigan put up with all that giggling. We were always made to feel welcome, loved and protected. All I can say is thank you for sharing your lovely mother with me and the "girls" she will never be forgotten. Love Sharon Hill

Thank you Marie for being there for me during a difficult time in my life. One thing you taught me is to never judge anyone. Your saying has stayed with me "We all have our can of worms." I will miss you. You were kind and warmhearted. We will miss seeing you at the senior center. Bye for now until we meet again.

With the passing of Aunt Marie, another chapter of the Rockland"s Hannigan-Doerries saga ends. The memories will always be there, the box turtle, the birds, the buttrerfly bush, the cosmos, the wildflowers in the now developed back lot. Spending two weeks each summer in Rockland was the highlight of my youth. Each Aunt and Uncle has their own wonderful memories for me. Aunt Marie was always the quiet, gentle, mellow but firm Aunt. Accepting of all she was always willing to open her home to me and to my family. Shw will certainly be missed. BUT her memory will always bring a smile.

Dear Cousins, I loved Aunt Marie very much as I do all of you. My heart has been with you today and I have imagined long hugs that connect us to such fond memories. One of my resent images of Aunt Marie was of last summer. She was sitting in the sceened porch have a simple lunch with soxs by her side and wearing the most wonderful worn out red sox t-shirt....she was quit the fan...and I was one of hers. She had great strength, quiet wisdom and a sweet, dry sense of humor. I'm thinking there's a great gathering going on of old friends and family. Love to you all, Patti

Above the desk where I did homework in my folks Rockland home there still is a picture of a rather fat RHS student (since gone bald), Mr. Pooler the sophomore (?) science teacher and Mrs. Hannigan in the RHS library. I spent many an hour with her. She was always incredibly kind and helpful. In more recent years I discovered the friendship Mrs. Hannigan and my Mom shared, particularly after Dad and Mr. Hannigan left us. I will miss her smile. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Jane, and the rest of your family. Steve
