Obituary For Margaret Ann Bernabei

Margaret Ann (Sullivan) Bernabei, 81 of Rockland died on June 12, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at TUFTS Medical Center in Boston. She was born in Boston to the late John and Helen (Hutchinson) Sullivan. She was educated in South Boston school district and later University of Massachusetts. .

She was a librarian for Boston Public Schools until she retired. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Margaret was a wonderful mom, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She had a great sense of humor. She was vibrant and caring. She was always willing to help others.

Margaret was the loving wife of the late Domenic Bernabei. She will be dearly missed by her long time companion and love, Peter Fontana of Weymouth. Margaret was the mother of Ruth Cutrufo of Rockland, Barbara Bernabei of East Boston, Pamela Goldstein of East Boston and Domenic Bernabei of East Boston. She was the sister of John L. Sullivan of Ludlow, Elaine Newell of Bridgewater, Chris Amoroso of Revere, the late Patricia Reed, Helen Caverly and Stephen Sullivan. Margaret is survived by her grandchildren Trina Ruggiero and Joseph Cutrufo; along with her great grandchildren Anna & Michael Ruggiero, and David & Teddy Cutrufo.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate her life on Monday June 18, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday June 19, 2018 at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Church. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery. For more information please visit www.magounbiggins.

    Very sorry for your loss, Chickie was truly an exceptional and loving individual. She was my friend for 75 years we lived in the same building in Southie for l6 years. Wonderful memories of those days we spent together. We got together again in 2010 at the Old Harbor Reunion, thank God.
