Obituary For Louis Mattuchio III

Louis (Lou) Mattuchio III, 62, of Rockland, MA, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Born in Revere and raised in Everett and Braintree, Lou was the son of Louis Jr and Jean Mattuchio. He attended Braintree Public Schools and graduated from Framingham State with a degree in economics.

Lou was a lifelong fan of the New England Patriots and was a season ticket holder during the Patriots’ Dynasty years. One of his favorite parts of gamedays was tailgating before kickoff with his good friends and family. He got back into golf recently and enjoyed a tee time with the 3 Lou’s: himself, his dad, and his son. He reconnected with his middle school friends, joined their bowling league, and looked forward to Tuesday nights with the guys. He became a recent convert to NASCAR after attending the 2026 Daytona 500 with his son, Louis James, and best friends, Russ Corsini and Bill Keane. He was also a member of the Braintree Knights of Columbus. He was his daughter, Emma’s, biggest fan, proudly cheering her on through her academic and taekwondo achievements, and never passing up anything that said "JWU Dad" at the Johnson & Wales bookstore. Lou and his wife Christine enjoyed the beach, walking along Plymouth Harbor, and Saturday morning coffee dates.

Lou is survived by his wife of 27 years, Christine Mattuchio, and their children, Louis James and Emma Mattuchio. He is predeceased by their daughter Sophia. He is also survived by his parents, Louis and Jean Mattuchio Jr of Hingham, his sisters Kathleen Mattuchio of Bristol, RI, Susan and her husband Frank Sheehan of Webster, Jean Marie Armstrong of Sudbury, and his sister and brother-in-law Kimberlee and Timothy Dalton of Rockland. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Celebration of life arrangements will be announced soon.

I played rugby with Lou.. when I join the team as a clueless freshman he went out of his way for me and for all the other freshman to make us feel welcome and helped us anyway he could always friendly. Always with a big smile. Just a nice nice guy he will be missed.
