Obituary For Lorraine C. Keough
Lorraine C. (Mosher) Keough, 82, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on November 28th. A daughter of the late Bessie (Clark) and Riley Mosher, she was the loving wife of George Keough for 61 years. Lorraine was born in Vermont but grew up in Rockland. She then moved to Hanson where she lived for 40 years, devoting her life to her family. After retirement, Lorraine & George lived in Plymouth and East Bridgewater. She loved books and watching the birds at the backyard feeder, jigsaw puzzles and a hot cup of tea, but more than anything else she loved her family. “There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One of these is roots, the other, wings. (Hodding Carter) And with her strength, humor, intelligence, and love, Lorraine gave her children both roots and wings. In addition to her husband, she leaves four children, Kathleen Landry and her husband Edward of Raynham; Michael Keough and his wife Bonnie of Tarpon Springs FL; Maureen Chapman and her husband Kevin of East Bridgewater; and Patricia Larkin and her husband Timothy of Candia NH; eight grandchildren, Matthew Landry and his wife Christine; Deven and Emily Keough; Danielle and Joshua Chapman; and Jessica, Marissa, and Bridget Larkin. Lorraine was the sister of Pauline Long of Gilsum NH and the late Eulalee Fluet and Dorothy Snowdale.
The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Lorraine’s life on Wednesday December 1, 2010 in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. ROCKLAND from 5:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Holy Family Church in Rockland. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.

I move out to California from MA at 19. No matter where I moved, Lorraine always found me and always send me a Christmas card without fail. (I am sure she was kept my whereabouts through my grandmother and her sister Dorothy) Every year I was amazed and surprised that her card always made it to my house, despite my numerous moves around northern CA. I will miss those yearly cards, and the thoughtful caring person behind sending them. Lorraine will be truly missed from New England to California.
