Obituary For Linda Shannon
Linda Shannon, 78, of Rockland, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, at Windrose Memory Care Assisted Living in Weymouth, Massachusetts, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with dementia.
Born on January 7, 1948, Linda lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and a deep love for the arts and education. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Linda dedicated her career to education as a lifelong teacher, touching the lives of many students and colleagues throughout the years.
Linda had a profound appreciation for the arts. She enjoyed music across many genres and loved attending concerts and theater performances. She was also an avid movie lover with a special fondness for scary films. Linda had a passion for travel, especially her cherished trips to Ireland, where she delighted in the culture, the scenery, and the friendships she formed along the way.
Known for her generous spirit, Linda supported numerous charitable causes throughout her life. She treasured the companionship of her beloved dog, Diva, and found great joy in celebrating holidays with family and friends. Linda also looked forward each year to her summer trips to Maine, where she loved spending hours in the ocean with those closest to her.
Linda was predeceased by her beloved husband and the love of her life, Frank Shannon, as well as by her parents.
She is survived by her brother, James MacDonald; her family of the heart, Lynn Peredetto and her husband EJ, Amanda Reyenger and her husband Steven, and EJ Peredetto III and his wife Tia; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Nathan “Nate the Great” Sheedy, Jocelyn Reyenger, Amelia Reyenger, Jasen Eljaszuk, and Adrianna Peredetto, who filled her life with pride, laughter, and love. She is also survived by many life long friends, colleagues, and extended family members whose lives were enriched by her warmth and kindness.
Linda’s compassion, generosity, and joyful spirit left an indelible mark on all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street, Rockland, MA 02370.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Linda’s memory may be made to the New England Wildlife Center in Weymouth, Massachusetts, or to the Lustgarten Foundation at www.lustgarten.org.
May the road rise to meet her, and may her memory always be a blessing to those who loved her.

I first met Linda and Frank nearly 30 years ago they had met Noel as a young boy in Donegal and I met them in later years when we got married. Linda was a very kind and thoughtful person and kept in good contact with us here .Our Children Laura and Aidan used to get very excited every Christmas because a parcel always came from America .from Linda she will b missed by us all here condolences to Jim Lynn EJ and all her extended family as we can't be there for her service we will get mass said here in her memory in a place she loved she will be missed by us all here .may she rest in peace alongside frank

Linda had a strong connection to Ireland where I first met her as a young boy. She remained a true and genuine friend to my wife and I over the years. She had a big heart and was fun to be around. We were heart broken to hear of her passing. Condolences to her brother Jim and all her friends. May she rest in peace.
