Obituary For Linda Ingle

Linda Ingle passed suddenly on Sunday June 25, 2023. She was predeceased by her father and brother James A. Eldeb Sr. & Jr. She is survived by her beloved husband, Stephen Alan Ingle. She had two children: David Joseph Ingle and Samantha Jean Ingle. She is also survived by her mother, Meredith “Jean” Eldeb and her two sisters, Cynthia Elias Meier and Marion Eldeb. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was born on October 19, 1953 and she graduated from Whitman Hanson high school in 1971. She served three years in The United States Navy during the Vietnam era. She graduated from Missouri State University in 1978. She worked at Olan Mills as a receptionist and at John Hancock writing life insurance policies. She went on to work for the Federal Government in 1986 as a Federal Investigator for E.E.O.C until she retired in December 2019.

Linda was an avid reader. She was often found in one of her many chairs reading a book. She loved sitting on her front porch to watch thunderstorms and listen to the rain. While in her backyard she had her little piece of Tahiti. She loved to cook and host parties or holidays at her house. Christmas was her favorite time of year. She always had Christmas movies on the TV and quite literally decked the halls. She is well known for her over generous heart. She never hesitated to step up and help someone in need, especially the people she loved. But what she loved the most were her two kids. She always said they were her world and she meant it.

The Ingle family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Linda’s life on Friday June 30, 2023 in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home from 4:00-7:00 PM.

    I am so sorry. I am a pro se litigant and Linda was my Federal Investigator. Please give me a number I could wish her family well. She was a generous person, pleasant to deal with. My deepest sympathy. Claire Morin

    My most sincere and deepest condolences to the entire family. I met Linda when we worked together at EEOC in Boston and we worked together for almost 10 years. She was a great colleague and always made me laugh. She regularly talked about how much she loved her family and how much she enjoyed camping trips and other family events. She seemed to know how to work hard and also spend time meaningfully with friends and family. I am grateful for having the opportunity to know Linda and know that anyone who did, profoundly feels her loss. Sending strength and peace to the entire family. - Lili Palacios-Baldwin

    In this difficult time, I wish to share a few words about my Union sister Linda Ingle. As former President (and current treasurer) of Local 3555, I worked very closely with Linda together on Union matters and I came to respect her as a very dedicated advocate for those in need of assistance. I wish to quote the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy words eulogizing Martin Luther King Jr.; "What we need in the United States is not division; what we need in the United States is not hatred; what we need in the United States is not violence or lawlessness, but is love and wisdom, and compassion toward one another, and a feeling of justice towards those who still suffer within our country, whether they be white or whether they be black." Linda was the embodiment of this quote for 33 dedicated years. In short, let us mourn with quiet dignity, but let us celebrate the fact that Saint Peter should be aware that Linda is there to make sure that all are respected and that no one shall be slighted. Although Linda was not of imposing stature, her voice will always be the loudest, when demanding respect for all. I can only hope my words bring some comfort to the family in this difficult time.     I remember Linda taking me under her wing as a new employee at the EEOC when I started back in 1992 - we spent a week together at a training in Dallas about four months after I started at the agency. I didn't know anyone else at the training, and she was kind enough to take me out at night with her and Steven so I wasn't alone and I could see something other than the hotel which was at the airport. I remember a more recent trip to Buffalo for another training, where the two of us took a cab to Niagara Falls and walked over the bridge to the Canadian side to see the sites. We also tried our luck at the casinos on both sides of the border, but didn't win anything. I worked with her until the time she retired. She had a take charge attitude and was a wonderful colleague who didn't hesitate to take on any task asked of her. She knew how to plan a party, and boy could she make you laugh! I have this image in my head of her dancing at my wedding in 2003, and the one thing I can say is she knew how to have fun. Steven, David and Sam, I am so very sorry for your loss. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

    Linda was a great colleague and always made me laugh! We worked together for many years until her retirement. We loved going to the Boston office for training and sharing time with her and the other Boston Investigators. She is in our prayers. Godspeed in your new journey Linda. <3

    Linda was generous in sharing her beautiful "oasis" in the backyard. We had quite the adventure going to pick up Sam's horse Boo in the western part of the state with a rickety old rig. But we made it! Linda was a lot of fun
