Leonard Sorrell, born on December 5, 1946, in Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at his home in Rockland, Massachusetts On June 28, 2025.

Leonard proudly served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Korea. His service to his country was a source of pride and honor . After returning home, Leonard met Edith in 1968, and the two were married in 1969, beginning a partnership that would span many years. Leonard worked as an Operating Engineer for over 40 years, where he was respected for his skill, reliability, and strong work ethic. He took great pride in his craft and the friendships he built throughout his career. A man of deep faith, Leonard served faithfully as a Deacon of his congregation, The Church of God and Saints in Christ First Tabernacle Beth-EL , where he was known for his humility, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to serving others. His spiritual leadership and quiet strength were a source of inspiration to many.

The family kindly requests no flowers or donations. Instead, do something great for yourself in Leonard’s honor. Leonard’s life was guided by his favorite scripture, Romans 14:8: “If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.” (NIV) His legacy of service—to his country, his family, his work, and his faith—will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him
