Obituary For Lea M Jones

Lea (Melanson) Jones passed away peacefully at home on November 18 surrounded by loved ones. A Rockland resident for 58 years, she devoted her life to her family who will sorely miss her loving presence. She was preceded in death by Joseph Jones, her husband of 67 years, who died only 5 months ago on June 1.

Throughout her life, she was drawn to water. Having grown up in Wollaston, she spent her formative years swimming in the Neponset River. Later she spent many happy hours with her family at the seashore, and at a summer home in Shangri-La Shores in Wareham.

Traveling was a prime source of enjoyment. Among her favorite destinations were the national parks, Hawaii, California and Florida.

Her favorite hobbies were ceramics, macramé and crocheting. Her family reaped the many benefits of her crafts.

She leaves three daughters, Linda Pennini and her husband, Larry, of Winterhaven, FL, Debbie Klim of Hanson and Chris Devine of Plymouth. Her grandchildren number four with six great grandchildren, all of whom she treasured.

The Jones family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Leas’ life on Monday, November 22 , 2010 in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. ROCKLAND from 4:00-8:00 PM. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in the Mount Wollaston Cemetery in Quincy. Donations in her memory may be made to the Hospice of the South Shore 100 Bay State Dr. Braintree MA 02185. For directions or to share a memory on our “Tributes page, visit www.magounbiggins.com. Linda, Larry, so hear of your loss on both accounts. Recognised picture right away, Mom hadn't changed at all. I've tried to make contact with you over the years to no avail. Sorry. God Bless- Pat Dwyer

Chris, I am so sorry at the loss of your mother and so soon after your father. I hope you can find comfort in knowing she loved you and what a good daughter you were. You and your family are in my prayers - especially during the holiday season.
