Waking up to a call that Larry had passed was surreal - kind of like a bad dream that I wish would just go away! Larry has left us all with great memories....we could each go on and on about him.....he was a great person and a great Friend. I never knew Larry to say a bad word about anyone and he always had a smile on his face - even the days when you knew he didn't feel one in his heart. My heart goes out to you Cuz, your kids and the whole Dunn Family. The Dunns are a great family and a strong family and I hope that you can all find that strength in the rough days that lie ahead. Sending you lots of Love and Prayers!

LD I know when you were 5 the last birthday present you wanted was a sibling...and a sister to boot. But through the years you shared your birthday with me with pride that only a big brother could. My heart hurts right now but I know that you'll look over us all and protect us. I am overwhelmed by the lives that you have touched. I have known you all my life, we share our birthday and we share our initials.....From sister LD to brother LD...you were taken from us too soon. But your memories live....when I go to Players you will be there, when I dance at our annual after party at Carol's house you will be there, when I hug your kids you will be there. I probably didn't say it enough but I love you...more than you know. I am so happy your kids were able to experience your life with you. You have my word that I will look out for them....especially your precious Kelly. I Love YOU LD. RIP brother. Sis

When I heard about larry dunn passing away this morning, I went and sat down in a quiet place. I thought back to when I first met larry a pee wee football tryouts. He was my friend, and my quaterback. From then, until I graduated in 1975, I knew that when summer ended, it was football time, and the bulldogs went to work. Larry loved competition. I can still hear his voice in the huddle, calming everyone down, taking charge, being a leader. My senior year after every game, there usually a party at my house on myrtle st. . When the party was over and every one was gone, it was always larry and I, sitting at the kitchen table, eating food from china plaza, and talking about the game. All the girls loved larry, but his teammates loved him more.I wish I could take one more hand off from you my friend. Thank you for being my friend, and my quaterback....

To the entire Dunn family - my most heartfelt condolences. When I heard of Larry's passing - my heart sank. Larry was a kind-hearted, earnest and thoughtful man. Last year I had the pleasure of re-connecting with Larry while watching a Pats game at the Eagles pub. I had not seen him in over 20 years. Although time had passed between us - Larry was the same jovial, good-natured, fun-loving guy I knew from days gone by. In my childhood, and later in High School, I was on many sports-teams with Larry. He was a very tough competitor and an even better athlete. Whatever team Larry joined - they were better for it. In competition - Larry always represented Rockland and his family well. He was a true leader and caring team-mate - a Bulldog in every way. In this loss I take comfort in the fact that Larry's spirit will live-on through his children. And to his children I say....."your Dad was a special guy"!

I knew I had to post on this thread but wanted to wait until reality set in. Well it's been about 36 hours since I heard the terrible news and it still doesn't seem possible. We met in junior high as 13 year old kids and somehow we just clicked and you became my best friend. Over the next 42 years we shared some great memories which I will cherish until we meet again. We weren't always close during that time, but the bond was always there. I'll never forget the day you stopped by when I was sick a few years ago to check in on me. We probably hadn't spoke in a couple of years, but there you were, six pack in hand just to visit. Then the last time I saw you was at Players' this year on St Patty's day. We shared a few beers, a few laughs, and at the end of the night a hug and a few happy tears. That was 6 months ago and now the tears that are flowing are sad ones. I will miss you but I will never forget you. You were a true friend.

LD- when I got that call I immediately thought of those blue eyes and that smile. Those eyes were filled with kindness and that smile always lit up my day. You were the best! I will always remember our chats, how you were always there for me, how my night lit up when I would see you. One of my favorite times is when you, my dad, Cait and I made up that game of putting a trash barrel about 35 yards away and see who get throw the football in the barrel. I must admit I won! We had so much fun doing that. The summers in Hull were always the best growing up! I loved watching the Bruins win the Stanley cup with you and Kelly. You truly were a gem! I will miss dancing with you the most because your moves were so fabulous! Maybe my brother can sing the "plaster song" during the holidays in memory of you. I love you LD and words cannot describe how much you meant to me! You weren't just my cousin you were more like an uncle to me. I love you and you will be deeply missed. I will always keep you in my heart. My heart goes out to Kelly, Pat, Danny and Timmy and the whole Dunn family and Our whole family will watch over each other.

It took me a few days to be able to put my thoughts together as I was overwhelmed with the loss of LD. You don’t realize how much someone means to you until you lose them. Larry, Mike and I were brothers in every sense of the word. From the day we were born we were the closest of friends and growing up we were always together. In fact, the Dunn family always took me on their annual Lake Winnipesaukee vacation. What can I say about Larry that hasn’t already been stated by everyone who posted a tribute to Larry on this site? He was a talented athlete, a competitor, a leader and a loyal friend to everyone. I’ll never forget how he refused to step out of bounds to avoid a hit like most quarterbacks. Not Larry, he took the hit head-on, cut open his chin, stuck gauze in his chinstrap and finished the game. We had to take him to the hospital to get stitched up, but that’s how tough and competitive he was. I was lucky to have him as a cousin and best friend all my life. Love you Larry and will miss you deeply.
