Lawrence (Larry H.) Arena, 65 of Rockland died unexpectantly on August 30, 2010 at the Brockton Hospital. He was born in Brockton son of the late Lawrence R. Arena and Susan L. (O’Mary) Arena who survives him and resides in Rockland. Mr. Arena was formerly employed as an independent contractor carpenter and in his later years was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Welfare. He also worked as a carpenter for the Albert DelPrete Construction Company in Rockland. He was a member of the Redmen’s Association, the Sierra Club and the Town of Rockland Republican Committee. He was also an avid flower and vegetable gardener and pet lover of which he had many over the years. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving sister Rosemarie A. Williams and her husband Edward, his aunts, Josephine R. Driscoll of Rockland and Margie Wynne of NC and several cousins. The Arena family celebrated Larry’s life at a graveside service at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Rockland.
