With great sadness, we share that Lawrence E. Phillips, 78, of Rockland, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025. Born on February 6, 1947, in Readville, MA, Lawrence was devoted to his faith and cherished his family.

At eighteen, he enlisted in the Army, following in the footsteps of his brothers Richard and Freddy. After his military service, Lawrence graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in education. He also worked with children who had disabilities at the Mass Hospital School in Canton, where he met his wife, Patsy, and later moved to Fall River where they started a family while he taught high school students. Lawrence concluded his professional career with Verizon, retiring after twenty-five years of service.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his son, Nathan J. Phillips, and his brother, Richard Phillips. He will be deeply missed by his family. He leaves behind his daughter, Andrea Soper, and her husband, Dan, of Whitman; grandchildren, Madison and Jack Phillips, and Ethan and Emily Soper; and siblings Freddy, Bobby, Allan, Mark, Wayne, Scott, Linda, Lorraine, and Lisa.

The Phillips family invites friends and loved ones to celebrate Lawrence's life on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A prayer service will be held at the conclusion of visitation. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
