Obituary For Kenneth E. Adie

Kenneth F. Adie, Sr. 79 of Rockland died on September 20, 2010 at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a period of failing health. He was born in Boston and has been a longtime Rockland resident. Mr. Adie was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Ken retired in1990 after a lengthy career as a printer at Union Book Binding Co. He and his wife served as foster parents to over 200 children between the years 1968 and 2006. He enjoyed woodworking as well as working on his miniature train set. He is survived by his wife Rita (York) Adie and his children, Kenneth F. Adie, Jr. Richard J. Adie and Mark C. Adie all of Rockland, David M. Adie of Hanson, Linda J. Ricciarelli of Hanover and Sally A. Adie of Whitman. He was the brother of Lorraine Geanacopoulos of Dorchester, and Donald Buckley of NJ. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Stephanie Adie of Stoughton, Joshua Pearl of Canton, and Nicholas and Julia Ricciarelli both of Hanover as well as a great granddaughter, Liana Guerrero and several nieces and nephews. The Addie family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Ken’s life at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home,135 Union St. ROCKLAND on Friday, September 24, 2010 from 5-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday September 25, 2010 at 9:00 AM in Holy Family Church. After cremation burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA.

    Uncle Kenny, I love you very much. It is still very hardfor me to believe that you have passed away. I will always the great times that we all had at the family functions. You were the best! Although you were my Great Uncle, I considered you much more than that. You were the papa I never had. You treated me like you treated your real grandchildren.     We were so sorry to hear of Kens passing. Ken used to dress up as Santa Claus and come to our home every Christmas Eve. We would leave a bag of gifts on the porch for him to grab on his way in and he would come in with the bag and hand them out to our 7 kids. what a great memory. He did this for 5 or 6 years. we are so sorry for your loss Scott Family
