Obituary For Kathryn V. Green
Kathryn Vincenthia (Burke) Green of Rockland, formerly of Newton, passed away suddenly April 1, 2026 at the age of 79.
She was born on January 28, 1947 in Newton Ma to the late Willian J. Burke Jr and Mary E. (Clancy) Burke of Newton Ma. Kathy graduated from St Anne's Academy in Marlboro Ma and received her BS degree in psychology from Newton College of the Sacred Heart. She was the wife of the late John C. Green for 29 years.
Kathy is survived by her sisters Mary E. Burke of Marlboro, Margaret A. Burke and wife Patricia M. Connolly of Centerville Ma, Elizabeth A. LeBlanc and her husband Nelson J. LeBlanc of Waltham Ma, her sister in law Carey (Hurley) Burke of W.Boylston Ma wife of the late William J. Burke III who passed away in 2015. She is also survived by brothers Richard J. Burke and wife Deborah (Dubar) Burke of Peru Ma, Theodore E. Burke and wife Patricia (McMillan) of Chatham Ma, John J Burke and his wife Joanie (Mannix) of Centerville Ma and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She leaves her dear friends Janet (Mallon) Cohren of NY & Denice (Picard) Farr of Virginia. In addition she leaves her beloved dog Matty and 2 cats Fiona & Jackson. She gave a loving home to 3 dogs and many cats over the years.
Kathy's mother passed away when she was 11 years old and became a surrogate mother to her 7 siblings that were between the ages of 2 - 10 years old. She always cooked Sunday dinner for her family and made all of the holidays special and cherished. She was a wonderful cook. She was a thoughtful, kind, giving and loving person.
Kathy worked for the Department of Transitional Assistance for 46 years and retired in 2014. Some of her many activities and interests included knitting, crocheting, shopping, collecting and cooking. She was a communicant of St Bridget Church in Abington Ma. She was a trustee of the Beech Hill townhouses of Rockland Ma. She had many friends who were dear to her. She will be dearly missed.
