Joyce M. Rondeau, a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 95. Born on June 26, 1931, in Rockland, Massachusetts, Joyce was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Rinkus. Joyce lived her whole life in Rockland, where she graduated from Rockland High School. Upon graduation she was employed at the famous Toll House Restaurant in Whitman. There she worked directly under Toll House Cookie creator Ruth Wakefield. One of her favorite memories was as a waitress to the soon to be President John F. Kennedy. During this time of her life she met the love of her life, former WWII Marine Richard Rondeau. They married in 1951, embarking on a beautiful journey together of over 62 years until Richard's passing. Their union was blessed with a loving family.

For most of Joyce's life she was an extraordinary homemaker - her passions were interior home decorating and design, gardening. Sewing apparel and window treatments, crocheting, and making braided rugs were particular examples of her handiwork. She took great pride in winning a town-wide outdoor Christmas lighting contest for simplicity and elegance for her home in Rockland. Joyce was also a wonderful artist, engaging in oil painting, Japanese Bunka embroidery, and porcelain doll making (including all aspects from kiln firing and finishing to custom handmade doll clothes) to name a few. Flower gardening was one of her favorite activities and her immense hands-on knowledge of them was admired by all who came to her home.

Joyce also stayed busy outside her home. She worked as a fashion clerk at Filene's Department Store, bringing style and warmth to her interactions with customers. She also took pride in being a member of the PM club. As her children grew she worked at New England Art, and later served as an office clerk at Rockland Savings Bank, where she was known for her kindness and integrity.Her greatest joy came from her family. Sunday family dinners were always special, as her talents as a cook and baker were quite evident - having grown up in a home with a fresh vegetable garden and chickens, it planted the seed of wholesome delicious homemade food.

A devoted mother, Joyce is survived by her daughter Patricia (Kelly) and her husband Richard, along with their daughter Juliane, of Hanover; her son Richard Jr., his wife Carolyn, along with their children Richard III, Vanessa, and Alexis, also of Hanover; and her daughter Michele (Lamothe) and her husband Thomas, along with their children Jeffrey and Isabella, of Northborough. She leaves a sister, Alyce McCrystal, of Towson, Maryland, and is predeceased by her brothers, Charles and Jack. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Joyce's legacy is carried on by her six grandchildren, who brought immense pride and happiness into her life.

She especially loved caring for them and going on "Adventures" to museums and gardens and tourist locations around the area.

In keeping with her family's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor her life. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at All American Assisted Living, South Shore Hospital and the Pat Roche Hospice Home for the compassionate care they provided to Joyce in her final days. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know Joyce.
