Obituary For Joyce A. Robinson

Joyce A. Robinson

Joyce Ann Robinson of Rockland, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on
March 24, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born in Weymouth on July 9, 1940, she was the beloved daughter of the late Phyllis and Robert Mahoney. Joyce graduated from Abington High School and Aquinas College. She worked for many years in the financial sector and concluded her career at Citizens Bank in Boston, where she served as an Executive Assistant until the age of eighty.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Frederick “Fred” Robinson, and her daughter, Deborah Howard who is survived by her partner John O’Loughlin. She is survived by her daughters: Kim Johnson and husband Philip of Bridgewater; Shelley Johnston and husband Michael of Rockland; and Karen Labonte and husband Gerard of Plymouth. She was the dear sister of the late James “Jimmy” Mahoney and Philip Mahoney, and is also survived by her brother, Robert Mahoney of Henderson, Nevada.

Joyce was the cherished grandmother of: Jennifer Wheeler, Ashley Gamache and husband Danny, Cory Johnson(predeceased), Hilary Bruce and husband Devon, Justin Labonte and wife Kate, and Ryan Johnston and his fiancé Shea O’Brien. She also loved being a great-grandmother to:Nick Rafferty, Tatum Rafferty, Tessa Watson, Shane Foley, Jason Gamache, Jordyn Gamache, Lincoln Gamache, Camille Labonte, Ryan Labonte, Charlotte Bruce, and Evelyn Bruce. She was eagerly awaiting a new family addition, “Baby Johnston,” due in June.

Joyce cherished all her nieces and nephews, and especially loved staying in touch. She shared a close bond with her niece, Sherry Hamlin of Los Alamitos, California.

Joyce loved family vacations, traveling, and golfing with her husband, friends, and family. A devoted Elvis Presley fan, she traveled to Las Vegas for years in hopes of getting tickets to see him perform live—and fulfilled that dream. Joyce also loved hosting pool parties and family gatherings at the home where she and Fred raised their four daughters, creating many wonderful memories with family and friends.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.org.
