Obituary For Joseph A. Wenners
Joseph A. Wenners, Jr., 82 a Rockland resident for the past 55 years, died on December 13, 2008 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth after a period of failing health. He was born in Quincy son of the late Joseph A. Wenners, Sr. and Edna (Miller) Wenners and was raised and educated in the Hough's Neck section of the city. Joseph was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed harness and greyhound racing as well as vacationing and camping in Maine and Canada. Husband of the late Jean (C. (Fannon) Wenners, he is survived by his children Catherine A. Pike of Rockland, Joseph A. Wenners, III of NC and William F. Wenners of Franklin. He was the brother of John Wenners of ME and Alice Kunkel of CA. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A Funeral Service was held in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. ROCKLAND on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 9:00 AM. Burial with Military Honors was in the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 11:30 AM. Calling hours in the funeral home were held on Tuesday, December 16, 2008 from 5-8 PM. Donations may be made to the Joselyn Diabetes Center 1 Joselyn Place, Boston, MA 02215.
