Obituary For John P. Crowley
John Patrick Crowley, 65, of Hanson, died on June 7, 2020, surrounded by his family at his home after a year-long battle with cancer. John was the loving husband of the late Janice (Smith) Crowley. He was born and raised in Hanson, MA. He was the son of the late Lorraine (Bryson) Crowley and Thomas K. Crowley.
John was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School and was employed by JP Noonan for many years. He was a member of the Mass. Laborers Union Local 721 and most recently was employed by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation. John was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and nature. He loved the ocean, especially Brant Rock in Marshfield where he and Janice, the love of his life, spent countless hours watching the waves roll in. John also enjoyed sports and was a loyal Cub's fan. One of his greatest joys, however, was watching his grandsons play little league. He never missed a single game! John had a quick wit and was extremely funny. If you were lucky enough to know him, then you will surely have a story (or two) to tell about how he made you laugh. John will be remembered for his selflessness, generosity, and sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by his loving family and his many friends. John is survived by his stepdaughter Lauren Genest and her husband Keith, and his sister-in-law Donna McMullen, all of Hanson. He was the beloved and proud Papa to Kaylee (Genest) Cronley, Trevor, Rayan, and Rylee Genest and of course LOLA, his best dog! John was also the treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service at Fern Hill Cemetery is being planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in John's memory to St. Jude's Hospital (www.stjudes.org).

I miss you more than words itself and I hope i'm making you proud! I miss your sweet little text messages. Even on your worst days you were always so happy and could cheer us up no matter what. Life is so different without you. You would be so proud of the kids, and Connor being a dad to the most beautiful baby boy. I know you would be so proud of Trev walking across that graduation stage this week, and the little two in all their sports. I am so proud to be your granddaughter. Please keep an eye on my babies from up there! I love you forever
