Obituary For John “Jack” Hussey
STOUGHTON - John “Jack” Francis Hussey, 92, of Stoughton, MA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on February 10th, 2024 after a period of declining health.
He was born on November 22nd, 1931 to the late Helen (Brouthers) and John Lawrence Hussey in West Hanover, MA.
Out of High School, Jack proudly served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955 where he served in the Korean War. While stationed in New Jersey and Italy, he worked as a teletype operator until he was honorably discharged. To show recognition of his noble military career he received a National Defense Service Medal for Good Conduct.
Jack attended and graduated with a degree from Bentley College in Accounting. To further his selflessness, he worked two jobs to support his family and put his children through college. He worked diligently as an auditor for the Internal Revenue Service and as an accountant for the Town of Norton.
Jack is predeceased by brothers, Joseph and Robert Hussey; and newborn sons, Steven J. Hussey and Kenneth J. Hussey.
He is survived by his loving wife; Marie (Vozzella) Hussey of Stoughton, with whom they shared a beautiful 64 years of faithful love, children; David J. Hussey of Hopkinton and Christine M. Clark & fur grandson, Lammie of South Weymouth.
In his pastimes, Jack loved to play golf, fish, and watch all things sports, football being his favorite. When he wasn't outside enjoying the surrounding nature, he could be found tinkering around the house finding things to fix, walking the aisles of Home Depot, watching the dog track & spending time with his family.
Jack was a devout Catholic. His devotion and love of his Faith are what kept him humble. The way he spoke about things was always meaningful and insightful.
Jack loved life and will be dearly missed and never forgotten by those who knew him. Jack’s family looks forward to the day they will meet again in Heaven.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 15th, 2024 at the Holy Family Parish, 403 Union Street, Rockland, MA, at 9 AM. Immediately following Mass will be the burial at Holy Family Cemetery.
