Obituary For John F. Wallace
John F. Wallace, III, 61, of Rockland died on June 3, 2008 surrounded by his family at his home after a brave battle against cancer. He was born in Boston son of the late John F. Wallace, II and Theodosia M. (Grabowski) Wallace of Norwell. He was raised and educated in Rockland and was a graduate of Rockland High School in 1964. John was an avid golfer and played regularly in the Thursday Night League at the Rockland Golf Course. He was a big sports fan especially for the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics. Among his favorite places was the beach and traveling to vacation with his wife of more than 40 years. John was a strong family man and was known to always be helping someone with his handy work abilities. Mr. Wallace served proudly in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam conflict and attained the rank of Corporal upon his discharge. He retired in 2003 after nearly forty years of service with Local #1044 of the Painters and Glazers Union. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Donna M. (Fisher) Wallace and two daughters Kim M. Nastasia of Hanover and Stacy M. Marrero and her husband David of Rockland. He was the brother of Maureen Crane of Brockton and Margaret Donovan of Pembroke. John was the proud Papa of Alexis J. Nastasia of Hanover, and Bryce C. Marrero of Rockland and he was anxiously awaiting the birth of his third grandchild in November of this year. A Funeral was held from the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street ROCKLAND on Saturday, June 7th at 8:15 AM. A Funeral Mass was celebrated in Holy Family Church at 9:00 AM. Calling hours were on Friday, June 6th from 5-8 PM. Donations in his memory may be made to the Rockland Education Foundation, P.O. Box 764 Rockland, MA. 02370.

Donna and Family: I just heard the sad news about John's passing. Mary MacIntosh and I have worked together for quite a few years and she asked me if I had heard. I unexpectedly ran into John a few years back in Norwell and had the nicest conversation with him. I can't tell you how saddened I am to hear of his untimely passing. John was a truly wonderful guy and you were so lucky to have so many wonderful years together. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Charlene

Donna, Kim, Alexis and Family I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I am also sorry that I did not find out about John's passing till it was all over. I just saw Johnny walking down Reed St. (well, it seems like just a few weeks ago? But as we know, time goes by so quickly) I stopped the bus, with kids on, and as usuall spoke with him and asked him how he was doing? He said good, good, good. He looked GOOD, GOOD, GOOD. He looked awsome. I am so at a loss for words you have no idea. Please know that I am thinking about ALL of you and wish you all the best. Alexis I miss your smiling face and hope you are doing well. What grade are you in now? I think it is 2nd. Oh my, you are getting so big. Give your mom and Nana a great big hug and kiss for me. Hope to see you all soon. Love Marcia A. Weaver

My heart goes out to all of you. Johnny was a good man and a good friend. Last time I ran into him was at the grocery store where he proceeded to brag and brag about Alexis and Bryce. Maybe even more than he always bragged about you, Stacey and Kim! He loved his family so very, very much. As sad as it is for you now try to take some comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering and he is in a much better place. He gave it hell in Vietnam but this was one fight even he could not win. Much love, Pam
