John E. Hunt, 80 of Abington died on December 27, 2013 at the South Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rockland. Born in Plymouth he was the son of the late Herbert and Grace (Vivian) Hunt. John was raised and educated in Marshfield and Rockland, graduating from Rockland High School in 1951. He was an Army veteran during the Korean conflict.

John retired 20 years ago as a clerk at Bank of New England's State Street, Boston location after a long and distinguished career. He had formerly been a member of the Rockland sons of Italy, Trinity Episcopal Church and the Mass. Bankers Association. He loved the Red Sox and travelling with his friends.

Husband of the late Jeanne (Edson) Hunt, he is survived by his children; Jill M. Paige and John E. Hunt both of Abington. Also surviving is his sister Virginia Gosnell of Sandwich.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life on Monday December 30, 2013 in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland from 12:00-1:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
