Obituary For Joan M. Monet

Joan Marie (Pretanik) Monet , resident of Rockland, passed away at the age of 69 on January 26, 2019. She was the wife of the late Arthur F. Monet. Joan was born June 9, 1949 to the late Chester & Margaret (Harkins) Pretanik. Born & raised as a Charlestown "townie". A 1967 graduate of Charlestown High. She was the loving mother of Joan (Evers) MacDonald & husband Robert, Debbie (Evers) Miller & husband John, James Evers Jr & wife Sherry all of Rockland. Joan is survived by her ten grandchildren; Nicole, Rachel, Johnny, Danielle, Megan, James, Alana, Dylan, Hailey & Averi. Two Great Grandchildren; Nathan & Payton. 8888 Joan worked in the Charlestown Naval Shipyard. Attended & graduated from Quincy College as a registered nurse and worked at the Norfolk County Respiratory Hospital in Braintree. She enjoyed learning & practicing spiritual healing and guidance through the Angels of Light, jewelry making, cake decorating, tarot card readings, the ocean & her golden retrievers. She loved spending time with her many grandchildren and attending their sporting events. Joan especially had a love for cooking and entertaining for her family on the holidays. Friends and family are welcome to come celebrate Joan's life on Thursday January 31, 2019 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland, MA. A funeral mass will be held Friday February 1, 2019 at 9:00 am at Holy Family Church. Burial will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
