Joan A. (Alger) Marson, 76 of Hingham, died November 10, 2015. She was born in Quincy MA, daughter of Richard E. and Hilma W. (Williams) Alger.

Ms. Marson was raised in Braintree and graduated from Simmons College in Boston. She was a resident of Hingham for the past 49 years and was involved with the South Shore Art Center in Cohasset. She was a graphic artist and communication specialist most recently employed with the Braintree Electric Light Department (BELD). Prior, she worked at Relocation Resources in Norwell MA.

She is survived by brothers and sisters George Alger and wife Rita of NY, Douglas Alger and wife Judy of Wayland, Susan Rotondi and husband Alfred of NH, Thomas Alger and wife Barbara of Norwell, Donald Alger and wife Deborah of Shrewsbury , and Nancy Quick and husband Kenneth of CO, as well as several nephews and nieces. She is also survived by daughter Carinna M. (Marson) Babyak of Mansfield and former husband Bruce R. Marson of Westwood .

The family will host memorial visitation at 12:00pm, followed by memorial service at 12:30pm, Saturday, November 21, 2015 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland MA.
