Obituary For Janette B. Cobb

Janette Barbara Cobb (Umbrianna)

July 31, 1929 - July 23,2026

Janette B Cobb, 96, of Braintree, formerly Plymouth, passed away peacefully on July 23rd surrounded by her loving family. Born in Rockland, daughter of the late John and Elsie (Anderson) Umbrianna. She was raised and educated in Rockland, then a graduate of the Brockton Business College.

A devout Catholic, Janette lived her life as a true servant of God. She was a faithful member of the St. Peter's Parish in Plymouth. Her unwavering faith guided her steps and brought comfort and wisdom to everyone who knew her.

Janette had a heart full of endless compassion. She regularly gave her financial support to over 20 charitable organizations, quietly helping the poor, the sick, and those in need. She believed deeply in sharing her blessings and making the world a better, kinder place. Her legacy will live on long after today!

Janette was the chief clerk for Arbella Insurance, formerly Kemper, from December 4,1950 until the day she retired in 1992. She was an avid reader consuming an average of 2 books a week and still reading the newspaper front to back. When Janette wasn't reading she enjoyed watching Judge Judy, Blue Bloods and Doc Martin. Janette used every one of the 35,421 days that God gave her enjoying life.

She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband of 63 years, Milton. She was predeceased by her sisters Nora Westberg, Grace Arthur and Mary Montgomery. She is survived by her brother Angelo Umbrianna and Great Niece, and loving caregiver, Suzanne Westberg, along with many other nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews, whom she loved so very much.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 30th from 4-6pm at Magoun Biggins funeral home in Rockland. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday July 31st at 9am at Holy Family Church in Rockland, followed by burial at Holy Family Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to one of the many charatible causes she so deeply cared about, such as the American Cancer Society, The American Red Cross, EWTN or to the Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham Massachusetts.

    I can't even put into words how much I'm going to miss you Aunt Janette. I will treasure all of the memories I have with you forever. You truly were one of the kindest most caring people I knew. It's so difficult to know I won't hear your voice every week anymore but I have faith we'll see each other again someday. I love you ❤️
