Obituary For James Patrick Cappucci

JAMES (BIM) PATRICK CAPPUCCI On December 14, 2022, James (Bim) Patrick Cappucci, passed away surrounded by his loved ones after bravely fighting through a long illness. He was the loving husband of 49 years to Lee M. (Anderson) Cappucci, father of four children, James Cappucci and his wife Kathy of Derry, NH, Michael J. Cappucci and his wife Kelly of Holden, MA, Timothy D. Stoddard and his wife Veronica of Trinity, AL, and Michele L. McLaughlin of Billerica, MA. He leaves behind ten grandchildren; Shane, Aidan, Kyle & his wife Jaimie, Emily, Michael, Joshua, Tommy, Toby, Keegan, Kearah; three great-grandchildren Payten, Easton, and Cam. He also leaves behind three brothers; Anthony J. Cappucci of St. Petersburg, FL; Michael F. Cappucci and his wife Bonnie of Manchester, CT and Kenneth E. Cappucci and his late wife Cathy of Littleton, his sister-in-law Carol Morrell and her husband Tom of Lee, NH, his brother-in-law Alan D. Anderson of Norwell, MA, many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and his best friend, Daniel Turcotte, with whom he shared a very close bond. Jim also leaves behind his beloved dog, Daisy. Jim was born to the late Anthony and Mary (O’Malley) Cappucci. His career included that of Lt. Commander for the MIT Police Department in Cambridge, Patrolman for the Winchester Police Department, Manager at Stop & Shop Bakery in Boston, and a term in the Navy on the USS Price (DE 332). Jim was a member of the Billerica Elks Lodge #2071 and previously held a position on the House Committee. He enjoyed playing cribbage and participating as a member. He also belonged to the Billerica Country Club, enjoying many years of league golf, helping to teach golf to children as well as working on the grounds for many years. Jim spent many winter months for years in St. Maarten, making many friends from around the world. His additional hobbies included gardening of flowers and vegetables; but his main love was sports, whether he was participating in them or watching them. As someone remarked after his passing, “his heart may have stopped beating, but his life will live on in all the people he loved.” A graveside burial service will be held at the Hanover Center Cemetery, 47 Silver Street, Hanover, MA 02339 on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Officer Sean A. Collier Memorial Fund at https://officercolliermemorialfund.org/

So sorry to hear of Jimmy’s passing. Sure had a lot of fun with him in St.Maartin. He had a reserved seat at the bar at Royal Palm for Happy Hour. He always liked to talk sports and harass my husband about the Steelers which in turn he would harass him about the Patriot’s. My condolences to Lee and the rest of the family may you find comfort in your memories

Grampy, you truly were THE man. You’re the best grandfather anybody could ask for. I am who I am today because of you! I miss you already. But I know you’re enjoying football and cigars in heaven. Rest in Paradise. I love you!
