I don't have a name for this poem yet..but I wrote it for Mr. Shields when I found out what happened. For Mark, Harrison, Katie, and Julie. We often tend to criticize Why he does what he does For when one of us dies He usually tells us, because... “The one I took away Was an angel in dismay He is no longer in any pain So stop your tears from pouring out like rain… “On the day his heart stopped ticking I did not waste my time picking Away with me he ran Too find his new life that just began…

Julie, Katie, Harrison and Mark, You have no idea how much time we spent and enjoyment we got watching Jim interact with you kids. It always made us smile hearing him playing sports with you (and from the sound of it trying to win). We particularly enjoyed watching Jim lean back against his car while instructing Harrison how to mow the lawn. The neighborhood will be so much quieter without him. He will be sorely missed. Love, The Seelys

Julie & Family, I am so sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of golfing with Jimmy on Sundays. He could not make every week because he never wanted to miss any of the kids activities. I especially enjoyed just bumping into him at an industry event or even at Dunkin Donuts. He had a way of bringing a smile and a laugh almost instantly that would make your day. I will miss most his deep hearty laugh and big toothy grin. Rest in Peace Shieldsy!

  • 05/25/2021

I am so sorry to hear about Jim's passing. Jim and I worked together for several years and he always had a simile on his face and was upbeat. There are some people whose absense diminishes all of us permanently. Because they are unique, they will not come our way again. Jim Shields was such a person. My deepest condolences.
