James “Butchie” Teehan

Today, we remember our cousin, Jim, who passed away at the age of 91, after a life that was long, full and “well-played”.

Jim spent many years in the shoe industry and traveled extensively throughout the world for his job with Stride Rite, collecting stories and experiences that he was always happy to share. He had a great sense of humor and could make people laugh with a well-timed joke or a witty comment. Being around Jim was always a little more fun because he never took life too seriously. The only exception was when he was taking care of his family.

In his later years, after retirement, golf became one of his greatest passions. If there are golf courses in heaven, then I am sure he is giving the angels advice on their swing, looking for a better tee, and insisting that he definitely got a better score than what’s written on the score card.

His other passion was his family, including his parents Margie and Ed, his brother Edward and sister-in-law Helen, and a large extended group of cousins, aunts and uncles. He was always there when he was needed for all of us, especially at the Holidays where he instigated the shenanigans~!

The Teehan family wishes to invite friends and loved ones on Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 5pm-7pm at Magoun Biggins Funeral home, 135 Union St Rockland MA, 02370. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, June 12,2026 at 9AM Holy Family Church, 403 Union St, Rockland MA 02370, followed by a burial at Holy Family Cemetery, 92 Centre Ave Rockland MA 02370

Donations to St. Jude's Hospital be given in lieu of flowers.
