Obituary For James D. Wyllie

James David Wyllie, 72, of Rockland, formerly of Dorchester, died on April 25th at his home. He was born on January 27, 1946 in Dorchester to the late James L. and Mary (Halpin) Wyllie. He was raised and educated in Dorchester and was the loving husband of Rosemarie (O'Brien) Wyllie.

James had worked and retired as a mechanic for the MBTA. He enjoyed his union work and was a member of the Boston Carmen's Union Local 589 where he had served as Recording Secretary. James enjoyed spending time with his friends but loved most of all being with his family. Especially his grandchildren whom he loved dearly. He made it a priority to make it to all of their sporting events. Anyone who knew Jim would say he was "the nicest guy ever".

Along with his wife Rosemarie, James was the loving father of Deborah Wyllie of Rockland, James Wyllie and his wife Rebecca of Ludlow and Brian Wyllie and his wife Betsy of Rockland. He was the brother of Cathy Deptula of Holden, Betty Brienzi of Rockland, Barbara Clougher of Dorchester and Maryellen Bankowski of Quincy. James leaves behind his grandchildren Christian, Hannah, Jake, Brendan, Kate and Olivia. Also surviving him are several nieces and nephews.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life on Sunday April 29, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland, MA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday April 30, 2018 at 9:00 AM at Holy Family Church in Rockland. Services will be followed by cremation. For more information please visit www.magounbiggins.com
