Obituary For Jack L. Richardson Jr.

Jack L. Richardson Jr.
April 14, 1939 – September 7, 2025

Jack L. Richardson Jr., 86, of North Palm Beach, FL, died peacefully on September 7, 2025. In the days leading up to his passing, family gathered to spend time with him, surrounding him with love and care.

Raised in Dorchester, MA, Jack graduated from Cathedral High School in Boston and served in the U.S. Army Reserve. He spent most of his career as a production manager for The Enterprise, the daily newspaper in Brockton, MA.

Jack was an avid golfer who loved watching sports, especially the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed reading, playing cards, and solving sudoku puzzles. Jack worked two jobs for years so his family could build lasting memories during vacations to New Hampshire, Cape Cod, and Disney World. One of his greatest joys was cheering on his daughters at their sporting events, where he was known as their proudest and loudest supporter.

Jack was a devoted husband to the first love of his life, his beloved wife Jane he affectionately called “Sunshine.” Together, they shared many wonderful years golfing, traveling, and trying new restaurants. When Jane was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, Jack cared for her selflessly at home throughout her illness until her passing on May 17, 2006.

He is survived by his loving daughters Rae Ann McHugh and her husband Gary of Youngsville, NC, and Jamie Gallagher and her husband Kevin of Rockland, MA; his cherished grandchildren Taylor and Brandon Gallagher, and Megan, Katy, and Connor McHugh; his sister Barbara Richardson of Port Saint Lucie, FL, and several nieces and nephews. Jack also leaves behind Lucille Buresh of North Palm Beach, FL, his partner and the last love of his life, with whom he shared many happy years.
