Hugh D. Gray, 77 of Rockland, a former longtime resident of Quincy, died on March 10, 2014 at the Webster Park Nursing Home in Rockland He was born in Quincy son of the late Samuel and Mary (Donachie) Gray and was raised and educated there. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps following his high school graduation.

He had been an employee of General Dynamics at the Fore River Shipyard for several years and later was an ironworker for Local #7 in Boston until his retirement. Mr. Gray was an avid golfer at President's Golf Course in Quincy.

Husband of the late Mary E. (Costa) Gray, he is survived by his children, Martin R. Gray of NH, William H. Gray of Rockland and Christopher J. Gray of RI . Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate his life on Wednesday March 12, 2014 in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St. Rockland from 5-8 PM. A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday March 13, 2014 at 11:30 AM in the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
