Obituary For Geraldine Moynihan

Geraldine (Adams) Moynihan, 89, of Rockland, MA, died peacefully at her home on July 4, 2026,with her family by her side.

She was the wife of the late James Moynihan, whom she was happily married to for 60 years. She is survived by her son, James Jr and his wife Lori, her grandchildren Sean, Danielle, Jared, and Matthew, and great grandchildren Steven and Shelby, her sisters Alice Loring, Kay Lynch, Maureen McIver and her husband Larry, and the late Nancy Pizzelli, her brothers James Adams and wife Caryn, John Adams and wife Linda, and the late William Adams and Robert Adams, who is survived by his wife Dolly.

She was born to the late Gerard and Catherine (Smith) Adams in Boston, was raised in Dorchester, lived briefly in Roslindale and Hyde Park, and moved to Rockland after marrying James, where she spent the remainder of her days.

She liked to be called Geri and was called that by most. She briefly worked at Blue Cross before becoming a mother, and then spent the next 20 years as a loving mother and housewife. After that, she worked at the family business, Video Gallery of Rockland, for 20 years. She had the gift of gab and made friends with everyone she met. She loved all, and was loved by all.

She loved to clean, cook and host, and was famous for her Christmas Eve parties. She also loved to spend time with her grandkids, who referred to her as Maggie, and take them on trips to Cape Cod. One of her favorite things to do was dance with her husband at events. They were known for their dancing skills. Her Catholic faith was strong and she attended Mass faithfully at Holy Family in Rockland, and served as an assistant at their school.

The family extends their deep gratitude to Jacqi and the staff of Croi Hospice, and all who have helped and prayed for her in her final days.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Geri's life at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union St, Rockland, on Thursday, July 9th from 4:00 - 7:00pm, and a Memorial Service on Friday, July 10th at 10:00am followed by a burial service at Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland, followed by a luncheon at Rockland Golf Course at noon.
