Obituary For Geraldine Cleary

Geraldine Cleary, 75 of Rockland died on Sunday at the South Shore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rockland. She was born in Quincy, daughter of the late Leo and Mary (McIsaac) Cleary and has made her home in Rockland for many years. Mrs. Cleary received a degree in accounting from Massasoit Community College. She had been employed as a presser at Norwell Cleaners prior to her retirement. Gerry was an avid NASCAR racing fan and in her younger days drove Powder Puff racing cars at Seakonk Raceway. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was proud of her Irish heritage. She is survived by two sons, Thomas A. Cookson, Jr. of Scituate and Kevin P. Cookson of Hanson. She was the mother of the late Dennis L. and James M. Cookson. Gerry was the sister of Patrick M. Cleary, Mary McCall, Alice Campbell and Leo Cleary. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A Funeral will be held from the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. ROCKLAND on Thursday at 8:15 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow in Holy Family Church at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow in Holy Family Cemetery in Rockland.
