Obituary For Geraldine Benson

Geraldine Norma Benson (Cobb), died peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Alliance Healthcare in Braintree. Gerry was born on September 5, 1935, to the late Horace Earl and Norma Helen Cobb. Gerry is survived by her brother Donald Cobb of North Carolina and her sister-in-law Evelyn Karlson of Maryland and many nieces and nephews. She was a long-time resident of Rockland, Massachusetts. She was married to the late Kenneth Irving Benson. They were blessed with six children Kathy Mitchell (Bob), Steve Benson (Margie), Cindy Davidson (the late Paul), the late Sandy Benson. Lynn Rondeau (Rick) and Rob Benson (Elizabeth). Gerry also had fourteen grandchildren Bobby, Ryan & Evan Mitchell, Sandy (Mitchell) Olivieri; Kenneth Benson; Gregory and Garrett Davidson; RJ, Vanessa and Lexi Rondeau; and Tyler, Jake, Hayley & Josh Benson and six great grandchildren Hayden, Leah, Riley, Mason, Maxwell & Bennett.Gerry enjoyed her pool, traveling to Florida, reading, and a good drink (coffee brandy sombrero). To Gerry all were welcome and the more the merrier. All fourteen grandchildren had the privilege of being held by Gram and sung to while bobbing around the shallow end of the pool. To say that she took pride in her family is an understatement. Her greatest gift and joy were her family! She did for others so much more than she did for herself, and always managed to keep a positive attitude and her faith, even when times were tough. She will be greatly missed for the wonderful caring and loving person that she was to family, friends and neighbors. The wake will be held Tuesday, October 11th from 5-7 pm at the Magoun Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St Rockland and the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 12th at 10:00 am at First Congregational Church 17 Silver St Hanover, MA.
