Obituary For Gerald W. Spaur

Gerald W. Spaur, II 64 of Rockland died on November 6, 2015 at the Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston. He was born in Charleston, WV, son of Gerald W. and Mary P. (Gilcoine) Spaur.

Mr. Spaur was raised and educated in West Virginia and Maryland and moved to Quincy where he completed his high school education. He has made his home in Rockland for the past 26 years.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Gerry served as a Tank Turret Mechanic during the Vietnam War.

Gerry had been employed as a Security Supervisor at Allied Barton Company and had previously he had been a maintenance mechanic at the Stop and Shop Commissary in Readville for many years.

He had been active in the Boy Scouts of America with Troop #57 in Rockland and was a member of the Standish Sportsmen's Association.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kathleen (McNally) Spaur and a son, William G. Spaur both of Rockland. He was the brother of Allan Spaur of Quincy and the late Beverly Sullivan and Bryan Spaur. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. The family invites relatives and friends to celebrate his life on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Mt. Wollaston Cemetery in Quincy.
