Obituary For Gerald Sharkey

Gerald Milton Sharkey, 84 of Hull, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 1, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.

Born on November 4, 1936, Gerald was nearly 85 at the time of his death.

Gerald was in the U.S. Army, worked in Panama for a time with people with intellectual disabilities, and was a manager for an oil company. Gerald also worked for a florist delivering flowers and spent some time as a taxi driver as well.

He enjoyed playing cards, Dunkin’ Donuts plain and jelly donuts, Italian subs, and chocolate. He leaves behind his best friend Wayne Jenness, whom he loved to go to car shows with.

He is survived by his loving niece Suzanne Pumphrey and her husband John of Rockland, nephew Charles Nardo and his wife Lauren of Weymouth, and another nephew Dennis Nardo. He leaves behind 7 great nieces & nephews as well.

Gerald was the brother of the late Elaine Nardo of Hull and the son of Grace Botto.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 5-8 p.m. at Magoun Biggins Funeral Home in Rockland, Massachusetts. A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Church in Rockland at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, November 10.

    I will always cherish the friendship and great times that we shared. He was the best friend and will be greatly missed. He always had a smile and kind words to share with our family and was known as Uncle Gerry to our sons - Wayne and Matthew ,- love the Jenness family
