George J. Walters, of Bridgewater, December 17, 2006 Age 85. Husband of Margaret L. (Rogers) Gotreau. Father of Dennis G. Walters of VA., Donald J. Walters of Whitman, Jayne M. Bowen of Rockland, Wayne E. Gotreau of NC, Steven J. Gotreau of Abington and Donna M. Davey of Bridgewater. Brother of Laura Sherman and Mary Sherman of Whitman and Robert Cerceillo of Duxbury. Also survived by 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. A Funeral Service was held in the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home 135 Union St. ROCKLAND on Thursday, December 21st at 11:30 AM. Calling hours were on Wednesday, December 20th from 4-7 PM. George died in the Brockton Hospital on Sunday after being stricken very suddenly. He was born in Plymouth, son of the late Alfred and Sophie (Jacintho) Walters and was raised and educated in Kingston. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He retired in 1986 after a career that spanned 40 years as a pipe fitter at Bethlehem Steel and later the General Dynamics Shipyard in Quincy. He was a Life Member of the Whitman VFW. Burial followed the services in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Rockland.
