Obituary For Gene A. Grimaldi

Gene A. Grimaldi

5/3/49-6/17/25

Gene A. Grimaldi, age 76, of Whitman, formerly of Rockland, passed peacefully on Tuesday
June 17, 2025 after a brief illness.

Those who met him will remember his happy demeanor and his love to crack a joke. His family will remember a loving husband who never missed celebrating an anniversary with a dozen roses and a dedicated father who was always cheering his children on at some game or event. He spent countless hours teaching them to play catch or learn to fish and volunteering his time coaching t-ball and helping run the Rockland youth football and cheer program. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he loved them all greatly, always looking for some opportunity to make them smile with a small gift or ice cream outing.

In 1968 Gino joined the Army and served in Korea during the Vietnam War. After his Military time, Gino worked as a Millwright with Local 1121 for several years until he retired following an injury. Throughout the years Gino enjoyed traveling adventures with family and friends, golfing, meeting the guys for coffee and playing endless games of cards and cribbage. He also adored his “grand” puppies and spent much of his time spoiling them.

Gino is survived by his wife Sandra (Fisher), as well as his son Michael and his wife Meghan and daughter Nicole (Grimaldi) Knafo and her husband Allen. He was the loving grandfather of Catherine Grimaldi, Sydney Knafo, Caroline Grimaldi, Benjamin Knafo and Joshua Knafo. He is also survived by his sister Linda (Grimaldi) DiNardo and her husband Larry and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents Angelo and Marion (McLean) Grimaldi

The Grimaldi Family wishes to invite friends and family for a Memorial Service on Wednesday July 9, 2025 from 10 - 11:30AM at Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland MA, 02370 followed by a service at 12PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to

Old Colony Hospice 321 Manley Street, West Bridgewater, MA 02379 https://www.oldcolonyhospice.org

Sandra I'm sorry to hear this sad news. I hadn't seen Gino since the depot Dunkin Doughnut's closed I always tried to get there to see him and some of the other regulars. I miss that.

Missing him so much!! He was like my big brother, he was always there to help me when I needed it. I enjoyed sitting with him when he couldn't get out, talking his ear off to keep him occupied or driving him to the VA for appts. He was such a wonderful guy and my family and I will miss his so very much. RIP my dear brother💔💔🙏🙏
